      Brilliant question! The answer is…… sort of! Atoms are made of a big heavy centre part and surrounded by a cloud of tiny tiny tiny ‘particles’ called electrons. The electrons between two atoms can overlap and form ‘bonds’ with another atom – so in that sense, yes they do touch! But the big heavy centre part that makes up most of the atom doesn’t touch another normally.
