Hi CML, it’s very difficult to live completely green but doing everything you can is a great start. Well done. Trying to live green is all about thinking before doing. If you ask yourself “Is this the greenest way” before doing something you’ll make the sensible choice if you want to save the planet. I do this when I’m out and about, if I know I’ll want to drink something while I’m out of the house I’ll take my metal bottle with me and ask people to refill it rather than buying a disposable bottle or trying to buy food that hasn’t travelled very far. If you buy a banana you know that that hasn’t been grown in the UK so it’s had to grow in the Mediterranean then picked, put on a lorry to take it to the port, then put on a boat, then put on another lorry to get to the supermarket, then put in your car to get back to your house. All of that transport uses a lot of energy and fossil fuels, all just for 1 banana, but if you choose an apple that was grown in Kent it doesn’t have to travel very far at all.
