• Question: What would happen if the Earth and the Sun collided?

      Then, unfortunately, the Earth would be no more! We’d get swallowed up – you could fit more than a million Earth’s into the Sun, so it would definitely win the battle. This is actually going to happen one day……. but not for billions and billions of years 😉

      And life on earth as we know it will be long gone before the collision! Apparently the sun gets around 10% hotter every billion years, so in around 4 billion years it will be so hot that seas will boil and the water will all evaporate!
      A crazy thought… but such a long time away!!

      It’s probably going to happen (but don’t worry, because humans wont be there to see it!). As the sun runs out of hydrogen to burn it gradually gets bigger until it would swallow the Earth. As the others have said, this is billions of years in the future.
