Antonio Meucci invented the ‘telletrofono’ in 1854, but Alexander Graham Bell gets the credit for developing the first practical telephone, he got a patent for it in 1876.
Things have changed a lot since then, I bet they never would have dreamed that everyone would have a smartphone back then!

Exactly as Dionne has said! Did you know the first words spoken on the telephone were from Alexander Graham Bell, calling his assistant – “Mr Watson, come here, I want to see you”. 🙂
