      Hi Louis and Ethan,
      .
We eat and drink to get energy! Our bodies are made up of trillions of cells, which all need energy in order to live. When we eat some food, our bodies’ break it down so the energy and nutrients are released from our food, so these can go into our blood stream. The energy and nutrients then travel around the body to all the cells, and are sucked up by the cells that need them! If our cells don’t get energy then they die, and so do we!
      .
There is a catch though! If we eat too much food or really unhealthy food, and we don’t exercise, none of our cells will need any more energy, so it will just stay in the blood. When this happens the energy is usually sent to our fat cells instead, where it is stored. This is why we get fat when we eat too much unhealthy food and don’t exercise!
