      I would spend the money on a set of virtual reality headsets, which I would then use to go round to lots of schools with and run sessions! I run similar sessions with primary schools at the moment, but lots of people say that they just can’t see the negative impact of climate change on the Earth. With virtual reality, you can actually dive underwater and visit the coral reefs that are dying, or fly high above the glaciers and watch them melt. It’s super important that everyone gets to see just what is happening to the environment, so that you have a better connection to Earth and how to save it.

      I’d create educational models to explain to pupils what they need to do to keep their private water supply safe. These could be used by DWQR and local authorities to explain basic water treatment science in communities and schools in areas where there are large numbers of private water supplies, which are a risk to health as they often aren’t very good.

      I would design an exhibit for the botanic gardens, to teach people about genetics and how the right genes can keep crop plants healthy! It would be called the ‘gene-for-gene jigsaw’ and would hopefully be fun too 🙂

      There is a very talented and resourceful team of STEM ambassadors here in my office and I want to use the money to buy more resources for the team so we can get to more schools with some awesome resources……we do a lot of stuff with marshmallows and spaghetti at the moment.
