The places that have felt the most dangerous, but haven’t necessarily been, have been at work when I’ve been in rooms with huge drums full of chlorine gas and other chemicals that could kill me really quickly if they leaked – it feels quite dangerous, but in reality there are lots of alarms and checks that make them safe. I’m always very careful not to trip over stuff in there though!
I worked on a ship looking for oil for a year and that felt pretty dangerous – we were working on the deck with lots of heavy machinery and winches and we were off Norway, so the sea was so cold you wouldn’t have lasted long if you’d fallen in.
