I got to see one of the largest, stinkiest flowers in the world a couple of years ago at the Royal Botanic Gardens in Edinburgh! The Titan Arum, it was an amazing beast! Like a giant lily, its inflorescence can get to a whopping 3 metres high. It only grows naturally in the rainforests of Sumatra, Indonesia, and can take 7-10 years before flowering. It’s also called the ‘corpse flower’ because it smells like rotting meat… mmm lovely 😉 Best way to attract the beetles that pollinate it though, they love the smell!
