Question: Where does metal come from

Hello! Metal comes from the earth. There are lots of types of metals and they can be found in different parts of the world depending on what type of rocks there are in the ground. Some metals are rare and some are common, rare metals like platinum are hard to find and there are only very small amounts in each location whereas things like iron are quite common and can be found in quite big ‘deposits’ in the ground. A rock that contains metal is an ore and this gets refined in a refinery to extract the metal from the ore rock.
