      It just sort of happened really – I always wanted to be a scientist, but couldn’t get a job when I first left university so I managed to get myself on another course studying water. I then got a job with a water company – there was a lot of chance involved – I could easily have been something else! (but still a scientist). Probably…

      What I do now is check that Scottish Water treats water properly so that it is clean and safe to drink. I investigate when things go wrong. I also help people who have their own water supply (like a well or borehole). Lots of things really, but all connected with making sure people have safe water to drink.
